I met Anne Fauquembergue when working at the Louvre-Lens Museum, and she was certainly one of the most unstoppable and creative marketing managers of the industry. A few years later, mom of two, she decided to take the chance and created her own designer brand: "mon premier carré", designing and producing silk scarves for children.
For her new spring collection in 2020, she asked me to come up with a design for a 45x45cm format.
What an honor to find myself surrounded by talented and renowned illustrators: Hélène Drivert, Jennifer Bouron, Johanna Thomé de Souza, Agnès Monges...
As I had never worked for fashion design, I decided to come up with several proposals, trying to avoid gender biases and clichés. She chose the dinosaur, and we called the design "Mary", as a reference to early paleontologist Mary Annings.
